Duties will vary slightly between offshore and onshore rigs but in general the Motorman is part of the Maintenance crew and is responsible for the daily maintenance of all ancillary machinery and assists the rig Mechanic as needed. The Motorman monitors fuel and oil levels in engines and sound tanks to ensure accurate records are kept for daily reports.
