The Storeman is in charge of maintaining the inventory of spare parts and consumables on the rig. Duties include ensuring that item quantities fall within their minimum and maximum levels, generating purchase requisitions and receiving shipments and verifying them against purchase orders. Other duties can include generating daily cost reports and creating cargo manifests. Some companies now refer to this position as Materials Coordinator.
