JOB DESCRIPTION

This job requires an experienced candidate with strong project management experience and a leadership philosophy deeply rooted in lean thinking and servant leadership for high visibility, high priority projects driving both value stream and cultural transformations. This dedicated position manages, coordinates and leads the day-to-day project management of large manufacturing projects and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing operations and front-end processes.  This position will be responsible to measure and analyze key performance indicators (KPI's) with the purpose of driving continuous improvement with key business processes and large manufacturing projects. The successful candidate will be able to identify correct areas of the business that demand attention, perform effective gap analysis and lead activities to successfully close the gap.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, oversee and document all aspects of assigned projects. Define scope, develop project plan; coordinate efforts and activities among team members and related parties. Plan, schedule, and lead meetings/calls. Manage all documents, record keeping, and change control.

Work with subject-matter experts and operations leaders to document business processes and develop supporting instructional materials. Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to design an effective plan to communicate and implement the new processes.

Design and build reporting solutions to track and communicate relevant KPIs in a way that is meaningful and user-friendly to business leaders.

Serve as the Lean subject matter expert for the facility, training and mentoring management, employees and process owners in the fundamentals and use of lean and six sigma tools.

Facilitate and lead mapping of critical business processes transferring ownership to the process owner for sustained continual improvement.

Translate business strategic goals into critical process goals mentoring process owners in gap closure and improvement action plans.

Enable the workforce to solve critical problems through collaborative thought processes. 

Host kaizen events to optimize large manufacturing projects

Develop best practices, and standardized work for all changes made to the value stream.

Facilitate and lead the Management team in implementation of data driven process improvements focused on improving quality and on time delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Performs root cause analysis and process mapping.

Excellent written, oral, and visual media communication skills.

Works effectively under pressure and with tight timelines. Thrives on challenging working environment with many simultaneous priorities.  Effective time manager - routinely called on to prioritize many tasks and report on project status.

Advanced database software, MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.  Working knowledge of standard office software such as MS Outlook and Word.

JDE Enterprise or equivalent MRP software experience.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the people at all levels of the organization.

Ability to reduce large amounts of data to insightful observations

Capable of delivering results in a diverse, ever changing environment

Strong facilitation and listening skills

Accepts accountability and program ownership

Respectful leader who can give timely and constructive feedback to their teams; must also be able to receive feedback.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Minimum 6-9 years of relevant business experience

Previous experience in managing scope, budget, quality, and resources in the capacity of Project Coordinator/Manager

Prior experience with successful change management tools used to impact the culture of the organization.

Experience in developing and facilitating lean workshops to include technical development and leadership maturation.

Certified in root cause analysis and the associated tools (or equivalent).

Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to communicate complex analyses and concepts to all levels of the business team.

Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to perform with high levels of ambiguity and complexity

Preferred:

B.S. Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical degree.

7-9 years industrial manufacturing experience in the oil and gas industry. 

Formal Lean Certification

Six Sigma Black Belt certified

PMP Certified Project Manager
