We are looking looking for an Energy Engineer with a strong background in economics and energy usage assessment. You will work in Power Systems Planning Department under the Efficiency Analysis and Management Division (EA&MD) in Dhahran, Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
EA&MD focusses on conducting detailed energy assessments, identifying energy efficiency opportunities, building the business case and subsequently implementing the measures along with validating the savings claims/efficiency improvements for industrial and non-industrial facilities - as a key member of this division, you will be involved in all these steps with a special focus to conducting economic analysis and building the business case.
As a successful candidate you should you should hold a Bachelor's in engineering, preferably in Energy Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or similar field with strong background in economics (market analysis, cost estimate, financial assessment…).
You must have a minimum of 7 years' experience in energy conservation work within a facilities management environment.
You should have experience in leading programs and projects.
You should have the knowledge of building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, and water systems.
You should have ability to read electrical, mechanical and construction drawings.
You should have ability to elaborate technical-economic analysis.
You should be familiar with current computer technology and applications i.e. building energy simulation software (RETScreen, eQuest, Energyplus…), Microsoft Office Suite, work management software, BAS systems, etc.
You should have strong knowledge of applicable IESNA/ASHRAE design codes, design standards, and specification requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply them to specific project scopes.
You should have CEA, CEM and or CMVP certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Identify potential Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), capital investments, and develop project proposals including cost analysis with economic analysis.
Participate in budget planning process (as requested).
Manage vendors and contractors who are engaged in the design and implementation of energy efficiency capital projects for the customers.
Develop and review scopes of work for energy efficiency projects, working closely with contractors and consultants.
Review completed Energy Audits and Energy Efficiency Reports (EERs) for buildings to help guide project selection and alternatives analysis.
Interpret and conduct investment grade energy audits.
Measure, monitor, and verify project performance, particularly those that guarantee savings, through the life cycle of the project.
Assist with ECM commissioning, measurement & verification, and closeout.
