Job Description

This is a great opportunity to use your highly developed tax expertise to help shape and support our business, playing an active part within Shell Tax, whilst representing our interests to the outside world.

What's the role?

Within an environment that's constantly moving, from EU changes and new IT processes, to Brexit on the horizon, this role comes with a challenging and rewarding platform: to make a difference to Shell's business across Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, as well as the more general fiscal impact on society.

As Customs & Excise Tax Advisor, we'll be looking to you to provide direction on all areas of Customs Duties, Excise and Energy Tax. Naturally, you'll be an expert on fiscal compliance and legislation, but we'll also expect you to drive effective risk management and decide on the best solutions that will achieve business objectives and add value.

A high performer, you can expect to set priorities without close supervision, meeting deadlines in one of the most complex process areas in Shell Finance. You'll be a natural communicator, able to adjust your style with a range of stakeholders, as well as confidently represent Shell to fiscal authorities and industry indirect taxes committees. In addition, you'll enjoy:
  • Providing support to local country Tax Leads in exercising accountability for indirect taxes.
  • Running Excise, Customs Duties, Energy Tax training and awareness sessions to businesses.
  • Communicating complex Excise, Customs Duties and Energy Tax issues, so that non-indirect tax specialists can understand them.
