Plans numerical control program to control contour-path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools. Set up numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Know and understand Weatherford's Enterprise Excellence Process and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
Must understand and comply with all applicable licensee requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set procedures, control settings and machining methods and sequences.
Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate factors, such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
Prepares geometric layouts using computer software.
Writes instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide set-up and operation of machine.
Writes program of machine instructions.
Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions.
Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvature, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability of materials, and shop math.
Proficient computer knowledge, including Excel, Programming software.
Intermediate Microsoft Office
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Programming of two axis lathe.
Programming of up to four axis milling.
Programming of API and premium threads.
Ability to make program edits at machine if needed.
Ability to assist, and troubleshoot machine setups.
Intermediate understandings of DNC transfers.
Manage ECN process to ensure proper revision of part programs.
Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
3-5 years Mfg. experience
At least 5 years of NC experience
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Must wear required PPE at all times where mandatory.
Prior experience with oilfield tools.
Prior lathe and mill experience
2 years college or programming in a technical schooling
Should be capable of following written and oral instructions carefully.
