JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform specific engineering tasks within predefined design specifications.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contribute technically to the development of new products and technology.  This will involve all aspects of engineering from initial feasibility and concept development through to detailed design, testing and prototype build.  Perform engineering tasks using established procedures, these include, but are not limited to, stress analysis, material selection, cost estimation, and tolerance studies.

Perform engineering layouts for fit, form and function checking.

Preparation of documentation for engineering design files.

Know and understand Weatherford's Enterprise Excellence Program and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements.

Perform any other duties as required by Supervisor within the physical constraints of this job.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years Down-Hole Oil Field engineering experience

Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office Suite Programs

Good written English (for report writing)

Excellent communication skills

Willingness to travel and work in the test lab, field, onshore & offshore environments

B.S. degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Preferred:

R&D experience with practical hands-on experience in test lab environment

Proficiency in using Creo (Pro-Engineer) or equivalent 3D solid modeling

Proficiency in using Windchill/PDM system

Familiar with ISO 14998, ISO 14310, API 11D1 and/or API 19AC Specifications

Experience in dealing with clients

Design and development experience with Packers, Liner Hanger Systems, Cementing Float Equipment, Centralizers, Inflatables, Stage Tools and/or Expandable Equipment

Solid experience in managing projects (including resource and cost planning/tracking), excellent written and oral communication skills. 

Must be able to work well in teams, either as support or as a lead on projects
