Under direct supervision from the Production Supervisor, the Production Operator focuses on maintaining and increasing daily production through optimizing well performance and field operations while controlling operating costs. Primarily works on site at well locations and optimizes daily operations including oil, gas, and water production from the well, well behavior, water injection, chemical injection, waterflood performance and artificial lift systems. Monitors a number of well sites through checking and recording pressures, temperatures and flow rate, reading meters, assessing tank fluid levels and maintaining all of the equipment to prevent corrosion and leaks. Maintains a safe working environment including checking that all relief valves operate properly and checking the entire well location for any environmental issues such as leaks, spills, erosion, and sedimentation issues. Works at the processing facility pro-actively monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing facilities and equipment performance and identifying opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability of equipment. Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment and monitors processes to maintain production operations within specified parameters. Monitors meters and pressure gauges to determine consumption rate variations, temperatures, and pressures, and adjusts valves and equipment to obtain specified performance. Requires an undergraduate degree and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in production operations which includes experience in oil & gas operations. Degree in engineering or geology preferred. Experience in oil and gas operations and strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is preferred.

By 1946, the company – using its innovative technology – had expanded into Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and the Middle East and began performing services for the Arabian-American Oil Company, the forerunner of Saudi Aramco.
In 1951, Halliburton made its first appearance in Europe as Halliburton Italiana SpA., a wholly owned subsidiary in Italy. In the next seven years, Halliburton launched Halliburton Company Germany GmbH, set up operations in Argentina and established a subsidiary in England.
In 1984, Halliburton provided all of the well completion equipment for the first multiwell platform offshore China. Two years later, Halliburton became the first American company to perform an oilfield service job on the China mainland
The final decade of the 20th century brought more changes and growth to Halliburton. The company opened a branch office in Moscow in 1991.
The company realigned its work into Eastern and Western Hemisphere operations in 2006, and in 2007, divided its service offerings into two divisions: Completion and Production, and Drilling and Evaluation.
