Position Description
We are seeking a Combustion Specialist to join the Fuel Technology Division (FTD) of Saudi Aramco's Research and Development Center (R&DC).

FTD is responsible for providing oversight and coordination of energy research and transport technology development for Saudi Aramco. Our research focuses on new fuel and combustion engine technologies, as well as technology foresight studies in the road, aviation, and marine transportation sectors.

Your primary role is to not only foster technical expertise and adaptability, but also leverage diversity, perseverance, and teamwork in the field of internal combustion engine and fuel research.

Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program.

You will have 5 years of experience in fuel and combustion engine R&D at a renowned institute and in industry and should have strong R&D skills.
You will have 5 or more years of industry relevant experience related to engine combustion research.
You will have strong understanding of underlying theories, properties of fuels, and combustion kinetics.
You should have strong familiarity with engine technologies, enablers, and trends and a strong record of publications and innovations.
You must also have Strong project management skills, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
In addition you will be a self-starter with the ability to complete project goals, able to prioritize responsibilities, and handle multiple duties/projects simultaneously.

Duties & Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:

Develop and execute engine test programs to understand fuel effects on engine performance and emissions, under a variety of combustion modes, from light duty gasoline engine to heavy duty diesel engine application.
Supervise single cylinder engine test operations, conduct thorough analysis of engine test results, provide periodic progress reports, and present findings at international technical meetings.

Make decisions on necessary engine hardware and test cell configurations in support of research facility expansion plans.

Carry out 1-D modeling (e.g., GT-power) or vehicle system modeling (e.g., Autonomie) is a plus to better utilize and support experimental engine testing results.

Work closely with engine CFD modelers on the team, to design modeling studies that complement experimental activities.

Frequently communicate with Aramco's global research centers, and manage external collaborative programs with partners.

Mentor and oversee development of young engineers in their specialty areas.

Submit patents, give technical presentations, and write technical papers for peer-reviewed journals.
