Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Occupational Safety and Health (or other relevant discipline) from recognized professional body or institution
  • Competent SHO - DOSH registration & Green Book (Desirable)
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO14001, 9001, 45001/18001)
  • Incident Investigation (recognized methodology)
  • Min. 10 years - full-time safety professional
  • Min. 7 years - fulltime HSE Drilling operations or related Oil & Gas services
  • Min. 3yrs Line Manager role (incumbent or acting)
  • Incident Investigation (Lead and team member), including RCA skill sets
  • Internal & client auditing
  • Good communication, analytical and time management skills
  • Ability to meet the training requirements as per training matrix
  • High level of computer literacy (MS suite applications)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Fulfil onshore HSE representation, providing support to onshore and offshore rig management
  • Attend to client liaison and meetings in respect to HSE matters as required
  • Assist rig management in the development and communication of company policy, procedures and values
  • Monitor systems & programs ownership and loyalty; and address deviations through informal coaching / development of personnel
  • Review and report on learning from events data through sharing, open actions management and rig compliance with action close-out requirements
  • Conduct of annual rig HSE internal audits
  • Oversight & facilitate Rig Safety Case process (new and maintenance of existing)
  • Frequently visit assigned rig/s (as per assigned KPI's)
  • Coach, mentor and develop onshore and rig-based HSE personnel
  • Provide professional (subject matter expert) advice and knowledge in QHSE, Flag State Compliance, Local Regulatory requirements and Sapura Drilling systems & programs
  • Participate as an investigation team member and/or investigation team leader for incident investigations, as delegated through investigation mandate
  • Review all rig undesired event and non-conformity cases, performing quality checks and coaching for improvement
  • Perform monthly (min.) review of all open Synergi cases and Action items, providing feedback as necessary
  • During rig visits, randomly verify closed Synergi action items and Fleet sharing (Alert) actions, to quality assure the effectiveness of the learning and close-out process
  • Identify and communicate best practices and lessons learned across all operating units within country area of responsibility
  • Provide systems training to onshore and offshore personnel (TMS / Synergi)
  • Participate in the development of Sapura Drilling / Client bridging documentation
  • Undertake auditing activity during rig visits
  • Capture site visits through Synergi case records and complete associated data entry requirements
  • Assist Safety & Training Officer and department supervisors in work place coaching and crew incremental HSE / PBED discipline and skills development
  • Assist the Safety & Training Officer in delivery of workplace coaching in hazard identification, 4-Point Check and risk assessment skills where necessary
  • When offshore, actively participate in the Safety Observation Reporting program (Hazard reporting)
  • Positively intervene in all observed unsafe acts (demonstrating leadership and providing positive feedback) in accordance with the Stop Work Authority procedure
  • Participate in the audit process of vendors and contractors (onshore), as requested by SCM
  • Maintain and report HSE statistical information as required
  • Fulfill Rig Safety Officer duties on an emergency relief basis if required
