Job Specification

Dril-Quip (Europe) Limited are currently looking to recruit a Legal / Contracts Assistant on a permanent basis at their Dyce, Aberdeen facility. The main purpose of this role is to assist the Senior Legal Counsel in the management of legal issues and contractual documentation for the Europe and Africa regions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and controlling all existing Dril-Quip (Europe) Limited contractual documentation
  • Reviewing the terms and conditions of ITTs, RFQs etc.
  • Preparing Dril-Quip (Europe) Limited contractual documentation
  • Reviewing and evaluating third party contractual documentation and identifying and mitigating risks contained therein
  • Maintaining legal portal and global contracts database
  • Compliance (e.g. anti-corruption, modern slavery, tax evasion, GDPR) training and policy preparation and management
  • Management of Dril-Quip (Europe) Limited insurance requirements and insurance claims
  • Management of disputes, litigation, insurance claims, and customer debts
  • Coordinate corporate documents for Dril-Quip (Europe) Limited and subsidiaries
  • Completion of customer due diligence questionnaires and management of vendor due diligence questionnaires
  • Legal research
  • General contract admin
  • Assist commercial team with contractual periodic contract rate adjustments

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience, preferably in a legal/contracts department environment
  • Experience in reviewing, revising and negotiating oil service industry contracts e.g. Logic, and vendor contract terms and conditions
  • Excellent IT Skills (MS Office)
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Understanding of oil and gas service industry contracting terms e.g. mutual hold harmless indemnity regimes
  • Law / Business Degree or Paralegal qualification preferred, but not essential
  • Knowledge of compliance issues such as anti-corruption, trade sanctions, modern slavery, and GDPR
