Anadarko seeks a Marketing Accountant to join the Revenue & Marketing Accounting organization located in The Woodlands, TX office. The position will be part of the Marketing Accounting Process Control team and will work closely with business users, the IT team, and industry user groups to ensure that the Right Angle and TriplePoint marketing accounting systems fully support Anadarko's Marketing Accounting needs. This function is responsible for NGL Marketing Accounting, market centers and third-party plants; limited gas marketing accounting; invoicing domestic gas and NGL sales, and invoicing international crude and NGL sales and purchases.
This position requires a minimum of two years relevant experience preferably in oil and gas accounting, five years is preferred.
Experience in public accounting is a plus.
Strong Microsoft Office usage (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with an emphasis in Excel is required.
This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills; the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and with external representatives; and the ability to work as part of a team.
Additional requirements of the position are analytical and research skills, and the ability to produce results under tight deadlines. The ability to multi-task is also required.
Account for all sources and dispositions of NGL, Gas and Crude in the downstream/upstream chain.
Works closely with and provides support to the Marketing Operations, Midstream and Revenue Accounting Departments.
Verify volumes in Right Angle and TriplePoint marketing systems to pipeline statements for third party purchases, sales and transportation transactions.
Verify prices/rates in marketing system as needed for purchases, sales and transport transactions.
Reconcile equity purchases to pipeline and other supporting documents.
Balance all activity on assigned pipelines and record transactions as necessary to generate pipeline margins and cost of gas sold reports.
Prepare transportation and purchase invoices for payment including obtaining appropriate approvals.
Prepare journal entries for related activity on assigned pipelines.
Analyze monthly variances and provide explanations to management.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Prepare invoices for third party sales customers.
Assist with the collection of receivables and resolution of disputes.
Assist with TPT accrual and close process.
Monitor KPI tracking results.
Maintain Marketing and Storage reports.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other relevant field required
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
This position is not eligible for relocation.
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-10%.
This position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule.
