Position Summary This position is responsible for assisting the Country Manager in the implementation of quality control and Parker Drilling Integrated Management System (IMS) initiatives. The Quality Control Coordinator shall interface with engineering, supply chain management (SCM), maintenance and operations to provide Quality Control support for the procurement, testing and inspection of new, reworked and/or repaired equipment. Contributes to execution and risk management-related activities, including the facilitation of root cause analysis, supplier evaluations and making process improvement recommendations.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks * Interface with engineering, SCM, maintenance and operations departments to provide Quality Control support for the procurement, testing and inspection of new, reworked and/or repaired equipment. * Create and issue monthly trending reports of key quality indicators including QC test results, product quality, non-conformance analysis, and assessment and verifications status. * Participate in the review of Request For Quotation (RFQ) packages and bid proposals * Implement and monitor product quality, inspection and test plans for projects as per Quality Plan. * Perform contract reviews on incoming quotes and purchase orders to assure compliance and proper flow down of all quality specification requirements from customers * Participate in qualification of proposed Subcontractors or Suppliers * Review and approve Contractor's source inspector selection and inspection order assignments * Review engineering drawing and Fabrication Acceptance Tests (FAT's) procedures as they pertain to Quality Control. * Review key Supplier quality plans, procedures, and ITPs * Review and accept vendor's, fabrication, qualification testing and welding documentation. * Monitor Contractor's source inspection activities and review ITPs and FAT schedule for Project Team involvement * Attend selected Supplier meetings and witness/hold points (pre-award, pre-inspection, in process, Factory Acceptance Tests) * Confer with management, customers and other representative in planning, scheduling and coordinating project quality plans in conformance with customer requirements, engineering specifications and production schedules. * Perform assessments and verifications in accordance with the approved Surveillance Plan * Ensure Contractor's Supplier surveillance activities are commensurate with criticality ratings * Review selected source inspection reports based upon criticality ratings * Assist in the investigation of product defects and failures as they pertain to equipment and components. Present Root Cause Analysis to Management for corrective and preventive actions. * Monitor Contractor's process for tracking and closure of deficiencies and corrective actions * Interface with the Contractor's Quality personnel to ensure that Contractor stewards resolution of issues in alignment with Project requirements * Assist in the oversight of the quality system-related activities related to inspections, sample testing, control of testing and measuring equipment, and other quality procedures. * Secure samples for testing, customer approval, or other needs. Communicate test results as required. * Arrange for the testing of material at outside laboratories as required. * Enter information and maintain databases. * Conduct quality and technical training (products, defects, quality system). * Validates the effectiveness of Corrective Action on product based non-conformities. * Abide by Company policies and procedures. * Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Years of experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. * Must have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in quality control or maintenance within the energy industry. * Must possess a general knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality system standards latest edition. * Working knowledge of Inspection and Testing Equipment and related calibration requirements. * Internal Audit Qualification is desired. * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. * Experience in performing audits and root cause analysis. * Must have ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness. * Motivated team player, able to work with team members to meet deliverables. * Must be able to work with a team dispersed over multiple locations. * Must be a detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks. * Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to respond to and anticipate information needs and present that information in a clear concise manner. Able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers and vendors. * Above average math skills * Must have good PC skills to include all MS Office products with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Good English written and oral communication skills with the ability to respond corporate teleconference and information request.

Work Environment This position may work in various locations - both in the Mexico. and internationally. Some locations may be subject to extreme temperatures, hostile environments, civil unrest, etc. Also, travel to and from work location may require extended layovers in unfamiliar locations. Potential for exposure to temperature changes, wetness, confined spaces, chemicals, grease and oil, working with ladder/scaffolds, working with hands in water, and working alone. Parker Drilling will supply adequate training and equipment to meet the functions of the job.
