Position Description

We are looking for a Lab Scientist to join Northern Area Technical Support Department (NATSD). The department's labs provide analytical support to the wet crude handling facilities, gas compression plants, utilities (RO, MED) and field services all over the Norther Area (Safaniya, Tanajib, Ras Tanura, Manifa, Khursaniyah and Shaybah).

NATSD provides engineering support for the Northern Area Oil Operations with specialized engineering and technical knowledge in the areas of varied disciplines to maximize profitability and meeting highest standards of safety and environment.
Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering discipline as appropriate for the area of expertise for the assigned job. A Master's degree in analytical/organic chemistry, is highly preferable.

You must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in lab operations supporting oil/gas/water production as a senior chemist.

You must have experience working with multi-disciplined teams (operations, maintenance, and engineering) as part of investigations to resolve issues related to the analysis solid (sludge, scales, corrosion products) using x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscope/energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS).

You must have experience working with FTIR, GC/MS and ICP/MS for environmental analysis.

You should be familiar with ISO 17025 requirements
Duties and Responsibilities

You are required to perform the following:

Analysis of solid and environmental samples.

Calibration of relevant instruments.

Writing professional reports for non-routine sample analysis projects.

Review analytical procedure.

Participate in the efforts to obtain/maintain ISO 17025 accreditation for solids and environmental analyses.

Train young technicians and lab scientists.
