This commercial development position is located in The Woodlands, Texas office.  We are seeking someone to lead, analyze, manage and support commercial solutions around Anadarko and Western Gas Partners' midstream joint ventures and transactions. 


  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required, with a preference for 8+ years working in midstream commercial operations, exploration & production, and/or corporate development

  • Working knowledge of midstream facility functions, operations, accounting, and product take- way and marketing

  • Economic modeling and strong analytical skills are essential

  • High aptitude for customer service, salesmanship and negotiations

  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple high-level projects and customer relations involving a variety of assets, challenges and calm under fire problem solving

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external business relationships

  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency

  • Ability to develop a solid understanding of midstream contract terms and conditions, contract development and contract negotiations


  • Evaluate proposed transactions for new or existing midstream assets by creating and maintaining financial models to facilitate internal discussions with senior level management
  • Perform business analyses on proposed growth and investment opportunities, as well as assist in reviewing and drafting related business contracts
  • Create presentations and analysis for Anadarko and Western Gas Partners Sr. Management
  • Support the forecasting and reporting efforts of the Midstream Planning group for midstream equity investments
  • Develop solutions for special projects to drive continuous process improvement within Anadarko Midstream
  • Identification of business development opportunities

  • Prepare forecast reports on situations that may impact business performance and commercial strategies

  • Develop and nurture positive and mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external producers and third-party midstream service providers

  • Effectively communicate strategies, execution plans, timetables, and status

  • Effectively negotiate contract terms and conditions with internal and external customers

  • Stay abreast of current trends within the industry and midstream operations.


Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or Science is required. Master's in Business Administration is a plus.


This position may be eligible for domestic relocation.

Travel Requirements

The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%.

Work Schedule

This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
