We are seeking a Financial Data Analytics Scientist to join Saudi Aramco's Data & Analytics (D&A) Group under the Controllers' Admin Area, part of the Finance, Strategy, and Development business line.
This group is responsible for providing an unrivalled environment for creativity and innovation in the finance sector by creating new opportunities to find and produce D&A products, and develop business cases and solutions to meet Saudi Aramco's unique position under the controllers' and treasury administrative areas. Your primary role as a Financial Data Analytics Scientist is to support decision makers and ensure safe, successful and optimum recommendations. This position entails the requirement to be able to initiate, lead, counsel others, and conduct applied research individually or with a team, and must have previous experiences developing D&A products; delivering a business value within financial services domain.
This job offering requires the selected candidate to be expert in evaluating, testing and optimizing various finance projects; this will include developing writeups, which may consist of project background, scope, technical logic, expected sophistication, proposed analytics model, limitations, business value of each parties involved in the process, and future enhancement, and recommendations.
You should have a good publication record, and have presented quality papers in various conferences/events. You must have the skill and desire to work as a team member and must be able and willing to train staff and new hires.
Candidates must be willing to travel and relocate if required for work.
As a successful candidate you will hold a postgraduate or Ph.D. degree in a scientific field such as computer science, analytics, mathematics, or statistics.
Twelve years of professional work experience; including 1 to 2 years as a data scientist in the field of finance.
Ability to apply statistical and machine learning methods to specific business problems and datasets.
Expert in designing different types of statistical models.
Proficiency using Python or R.
Proficiency using PowerBI or the equivalent.
Ability to effectively communicate ideas and results with actionable conclusions backed by data.
Experience in designing and executing scientific studies, and best practices.
Experience in designing clear and accurate data visualizations.
Proficiency using SQL and NoSQL.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Model complex recurring problems, discovering insights and identify opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, data mining and data visualization techniques.
Analyze user needs, define database and application systems requirements, perform system application analysis and design, and train programmers and end-users in data mining/data and modeling/data visualization techniques.
Create and oversee the application of a diverse set of models, tools, risks, and decision science techniques to develop and enhance output quality and current operating model capabilities to make strategic recommendations.
Make strategic recommendations on data collection, integration and retention requirements incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practices.
Evaluating, test, and optimize various D&A projects with respect of developing detailed write-ups.
