WorleyParsons is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This role will be based in our Stockton Offer and will be on a permanent basis.

 

Role Overview

  • Ensuring effective commercial co-ordination of relevant project in accordance with all relevant WorleyParsons commercial policies and procedures
  • Ensuring effective post-contract commercial co-ordination of Project in accordance with WorleyParsons commercial policies and procedures and that commercial entitlement is pursued and obtained in accordance with the terms of the contract

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that project operates in accordance with WorleyParsons commercial policies and procedures
  • Maintain and promote a safe working environment and demonstrate correct HSE behaviours and leadership
  • Ensuring that adequate and appropriate commercial resources are deployed on project
  • Ensuring that CRB approval process followed and that all necessary approvals obtained
  • Provision of commercial and contractual advice to Project Manager
  • Liaison with WorleyParsons insurance department regarding project specific insurance requirements and insurance claims
  • Development of project sub-contracting strategies in conjunction with Project Supply Chain Manager
  • Placement and management of sub-contracts in accordance with relevant WorleyParsons policies and procedures and in a manner which optimises WorleyParsons commercial position
  • Ensuring that sub-contract documentation is maintained in accordance with WorleyParsons policy and procedural requirements
  • Evaluation and settlement of subcontractor claims
  • Agreement of final accounts and close out of subcontracts in accordance with contract requirements
  • Ensuring that project invoicing is carried out in accordance with terms and conditions of contract and that WorleyParsons cash position is maximised
  • Ensuring that project KPI scheme(s) administered in accordance with the terms of the contract
  • Ensuring that project costs are effectively controlled
  • Ensuring that cost/value reporting and end life forecasting on project are undertaken in accordance with WorleyParsons policies and procedures and that the appropriate values are reflected in the management accounts
  • Ensuring that accurate and timely project cost reports are provided to the Client
  • Ensuring that revised contract rates and prices are built up and submitted in accordance with the terms of the contract
  • Ensuring that any necessary contractual notices are served in accordance with the terms of the contract
  • Ensuring the preparation and submission of variation and contract amendment requests is undertaken in accordance with contract requirements
  • Ensuring the preparation and submission of claims is undertaken in accordance with contract requirements
  • Ensuring that any bonds and guarantees are released in accordance with their termsEnsuring that risk management techniques are applied on project
  • Ensuring that appropriate training and development provided for project commercial personnel
  • Deputise for Project Manager
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors -Insurance Department - Finance Department - Treasury Department - Client commercial personnel - External auditors

 

Role Requirements

  • University graduate or above in Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Studies or other appropriate discipline
  • Extensive experience in senior commercial roles in the oil and gas industry, ideally in both Operator and Contractor environments
  • Membership of a professional institution (eg RICS) desirable but not absolutely essential
  • Specific competencies to be in accordance with WorleyParsons commercial management competence scheme
