The Upstream IT Applications - Manila Team provides application development and support services for various Upstream Functions with business enabling solutions guided by Chevron's information protection and technical standards. The team also enables effective global support models by partnering with US-based teams to support Asia Pacific, Africa, Europe, Eurasia & Middle East locations for globally deployed applications.

High Level Job Description/Scope:
  • Enable Business Units to meet Upstream Target Architecture and Data Foundation expectations by providing technical support and consulting for Schlumberger's ProSource Enterprise data management solutions ("ProSource").
  • Create business value by designing, developing, and implementing new capabilities in ProSource
  • Leverage technical database, Windows, and Linux skills to deploy and administer ProSource solutions.
  • Innovate to improve efficiency by exploring Robotic Process Automation to automate ProSource project configuration.
  • Learn and develop subject matter expertise in Upstream workflows and data.
  • Apply relevant methodologies, architecture, patterns, services, object oriented design, and development tools.
  • Contribute to defining time tables and project plans; analyze feasibility, cost, and time for capability delivery.


Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as an Software engineer supporting Unix/Linux based applications
  • Basic file operations, writing and executing scripts, forwarding X sessions, etc.
  • Database competency: using Oracle P/L SQL to examine data and create/modify stored procedures, tables, triggers, etc.
  • Modeling competency: read and design data models; model business workflows and architectural design.
  • Ability to work and communicate tactfully and effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Nice to have, but not required: ProSource, Apache Tomcat, Windows IIS, GIS experience; knowledge of Upstream workflows; knowledge of seismic, well, reservoir properties and other Upstream data.


Critical Selection Criteria:
  • Application Support knowledge - strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; 4+ years experience as an Application Analyst, Solution Analyst, Application Developer or Solution Architect. Knowledge of application delivery and support and/or various integration frameworks. Database skills required. managing application problems and changes, supporting integrations.
  • Technical Skills :
    • Linux competency: basic file operations, writing and executing scripts, forwarding X sessions, etc.
    • Database competency: using Oracle P/L SQL to examine data and create/modify stored procedures, tables, triggers, etc.
    • Modeling competency: read and design data models; model business workflows and architectural design.
  • Teamwork- ability to work with a team toward a common goal, staying aligned with agreed strategies, priorities and processes to deliver results.
  • Strong Communication & interpersonal skills - demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management , peers, business partners, vendors across disciplines and geographies.
