The CNC Maintenance Technician is a technician with the important role of maintaining our equipment. He/She is responsible for doing the maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and any remedial work of the CNC machinery and equipment.

This position is based in Houston, TX and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures all assigned equipment is continually maintained at shop with highest standards, resulting in proper functionality and minimum failures.
  • Performs Quality checks and modifications strictly as per procedure and according to the defined schedule.
  • Use machine controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol, Heidenhain) to determine fault locations and diagnose failure root causes.
  • Efficiently troubleshoots and repairs assigned equipment.
  • Participates in Root Cause Analysis of failures.
  • Makes recommendations to supervisors on requirements for spare parts, test equipment and tools necessary for efficient maintenance.
  • Ensures his/her work areas are safe, clean and orderly at all times.
  • Comply with all Schlumberger QHSE Policies and procedures.
  • Operate overhead and pillar type cranes / lifting equipment.
  • Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.Associates Degree in a related field, such as PLC, Manufacturing or Mechanics preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2+ years related work experience.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Siemens, and Heudenhain CNC controllers as well as other industrial control and automation equipment highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of G Code and M Code programming highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of typical alarms and how to remedy them preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of PLC control theory, ladder logic, and other advanced aspects of industrial automation and control preferred.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge of Okuma, Mazak, Toyota, DBG Mori and Doosan machines preferred.
  • Ability to work without supervision. Self-directed and takes ownership of machine uptime and functionality.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Pursues everything with energy, drive and a need to finish.
  • Effective communication skills, Eagerness to learn.
  • Attention to detail, neat and organized.
  • Ability to work in shifts and overtime (weekends included) as required. Flexible in working requirements as the needs of the business dictate.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.
