Position Description

We are seeking a Composite Materials Development Expert to join the Oil & Gas Network Integrity (O&GNI) Research & Development Division at the Research and Development Center.

The Oil & Gas Network Integrity (O&GNI) Research & Development Division is responsible for providing innovative solutions to enhance the reliability and improve the performance of the Company's operating assets on the one hand, while it also develops nonmetallic-based technologies to promote global utilization of polymer composite materials in other sectors.

Your primary role will be to develop a new generation of composite materials focusing on carbon fibers and carbon fiber-reinforced plastics. You should possess a strong technical competency to identify current technical challenges in this area, propose new research projects to tackle these challenges, develop new synthetic methods and fabrication procedures for novel materials or composite systems with enhanced performance, and work well as part of multidisciplinary teams.

You will develop research programs with clear business plans and provide financial analysis of new proposed technologies while being aware of the economic implication of any scientific and technical aspects of the ongoing research programs.
Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate, you should hold a PhD degree in Materials Science, Polymers Science, or Chemistry from a recognized and approved program.

You will have at least 15 years of industrial or academic experience, including at least 10 years of experience working on composite materials within an industrial context.

You must have a record of patents and/or publications in recognized international peer-reviewed journals, as well as noticeable experience in business planning and techno-economic evaluations. Outstanding communication skills in English are a requirement.
Duties and Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:
Develop and implement new disruptive research programs to expand scientific knowledge of Saudi Aramco on nonmetallic, leading to faster new product and technology developments for the Oil & Gas industry and beyond.
Lead interdisciplinary teams to support ongoing Saudi Aramco transformational technology through the development of carbon fibers and carbon fiber-reinforced plastics-based technologies.
