We are seeking a Refining Technology Expert to join the Refining & Upgrading Research & Development Division (R&U R&DD) within our Research and Development Center (R&DC).
R&U R&DD is responsible for providing short- and long-term research and development (R&D) solutions for domestic refining and fractionation operations.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a Ph.D. or master's degree in chemical engineering from a leading accredited university.
You will have at least 20 years of experience within a major technology licensing and/or oil company, with a strong background in all refining process technologies, particularly bottom of the barrel technologies, including hydrotreating, hydrocracking fluid catalytic cracking, coking, and gasification.
You will have experience in R&D, process design, technology development, commercialization, and refining operation with a strong knowledge in catalysis, thermodynamics, mass transfer, and kinetics and modeling.
You will also possess working knowledge and experience in catalyst testing, evaluation, and liquid/solid analysis/characterization.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
General consulting and planning of development programs, overseeing pilot implementation and testing, allocating facility and personnel resources, and interfacing with project scientists and technicians.
Provide key strategic data to the R&DC management to set the directions for existing and prospective projects and share experiences across project teams, communities of practice, and management team on innovative approaches in refining process technologies.
Explore emerging opportunities to expand refining learning and knowledge experiences and participate in international organizations, associations, forums, and conferences to continually bring new ideas.
Provide development and mentoring to junior engineers.
