As a Project Manager in an unconventional asset you will manage a single project or several related projects in parallel (large and multiple intermediate-size) from preparation of the conceptual studies stage, Project Proposal to commissioning the facility and performing post-completion analysis. Under the general supervision of a Project Director or Department Manager, is responsible for the execution of assigned projects from development of the Project Proposal to commissioning the facility and performing post-completion analysis. The projects will vary in complexity.
The position will also include coordination at department and division levels with project management contractor, Aramco Services Company or Aramco Overseas Company design office teams-overseas offices, and construction contractors. Experience in shale Gas projects industry is highly desirable.
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
You will have a minimum 12 years' experience in a broad spectrum of engineering work including project management. Operations supervision experience highly desirable.
You will be required to travel extensively and may be away from home for extended periods of time.
You will also be able to express well in written and spoken English.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be required to perform and demonstrate the following:
Perform all management functions of the Division level.
Ensure that designs meet Saudi Aramco standards and specifications and that alternate design or changes are economical, operable and meet safety, schedule and quality requirements.
Coordinate cost estimation, the preparation of AFEs and ERs.
Responsible for compliance with project controls and administration procedures, including those related to cost control, planning and scheduling as well as contract administration.
Mentor and control the project performance indexes (KPIs).
Coordinate and manage the project value improved practices and subcontracts.
Coordinate the staffing of the project team, which will vary over the time of the project.
Negotiate arrangements for design with an Engineering consultant. Establishes Aramco team on site at consultant's offices. Project Manager remains on site during the design and material procurement phase.
Coordinate the preparation of documentation for the bidding of construction.
Participates in the selection process and recommends a contractor.
Coordinate the construction, startup and commissioning of the facility.
Approve contract variations and payments within limits of his authority or endorses and forwards to higher authority.
Guide and direct his/her subordinates in the application of Saudi Aramco standards. Assures that variances from standards are minimized.
Prepare a monthly report showing the status of design, material procurement, construction, milestones, AFE commitments, payments, charges, variances from standards, waivers and problems.
Anticipate and plan for changes in project scope, timing or costs. Prepares documentation and obtains management approval.
Present reports and projects updates to management.
Prepare a post-completion report for management critique.
Control the disposition of Saudi Aramco and contractor construction personnel, local and International contractors working on assigned projects to execute the program in the most efficient manner.
Review assigned construction project status schedule and costs reports to ensure satisfactory progress of program commensurate with approved timing and funds.
See that requests are initiated for additional funds, if necessary, to complete assigned projects and is responsible that overspending appropriated funds is not done without prior approval.
Review bids and/or contracts for compliance to policy procedure and scope or stated agreements, as applicable. Approves contract payments for work accomplished after review that contractual obligations have been fulfilled.
You will be responsible overall for materials used on division projects, including proper usage and documentation.
Provide administrative direction to his assigned Senior Project Engineers and other engineering staff prepares job performance appraisals, reviews performance and approves merit increases as designated within his/her authority. Recommends job promotions.
