The Geophysical Imaging Department is actively seeking a top Seismic Data Processing Geophysicist to join its world-class team.
As the successful candidate you will have significant experience as an effective decision maker in land, transition zone, and marine processing, with preference given to marine seismic time processing.
You will have experience of working to implement new methods and technologies for the solution of geophysical challenges. Key challenges you will have addressed should include multiples, noise (land in particular), statics, and resolution.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor's degree in geophysics or alternative disciplines including physics, geology or engineering.
You will have a minimum of 8 years center-based, hands-on processing experience, either with a seismic data processing contractor, or with a major oil and gas firm, with exposure to technology development
Experience of working in different countries or regions, and being able to show evidence of having acquired skills covering a wide variety of settings is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:-
Work within a multidisciplinary team focusing on seismic data processing, or supporting research and development.
Implement new methods and technologies that provide solutions to geophysical challenges.
Take responsibility for making effective decisions in land, transition zone, and marine processing.
Liaise directly with interpreters/clients, presenting work and making recommendations to improve seismic data processing.
Function in a leadership-based role, mentoring and training less experienced colleagues, and providing structured training as required.
