Job Summary:

The Pipeline Mapping Drafter will assist civil design efforts for projects related to pipelines, pump stations, meter stations, compressor station projects. This job requires interaction within the EPC Services group of Strike, and from other disciplines, in a team environment to create multi-discipline design packages for construction forces.

 

Primary Job Functions:

  • Follow outlined standards/codes required by clients and jurisdictions and ensure drawings comply
  • Efficiently design and draft the following using AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Plats
    • Alignment Sheets
    • HDD drawings
    • Various permit drawings
  • Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule
  • Review  drawings for completeness, accuracy and quality
  • Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner
  • Use third party applications to generate drawing based on specific project requirements
  • Work closely with management and design staff to coordinate efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed
    • Follow procedures
    • Work well with others in a team
    • Ask questions as topics arise
       

Experience:

  • 1 - 3 years of experience (or Associates Degree & 2 years of experience) in civil drafting/design drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Blue Sky Skyline experience not required, but would be helpful
  • ArcGIS experience not required, but would be helpful

 

Competencies:

  • Proficient in current release of AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Thorough understanding and efficiency with standard design and drafting practices
  • 2+ years' experience within the Engineering and Construction industry
  • Read,  write  and  communicate  using  English  language  sufficient  to  perform  job  functions   (other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)

 

Other Criteria:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally in excess of a normal schedule
  • Complies with Strike's policies and procedures
  • Complies with Strike's Drug & Alcohol Policy maintaining favorable drug testing results throughout employment
  • Performs job safely with respect to others, property and individual safety
