Position Overview: Responsible for performing various machining operations, including various types of set-up and operation of a variety of machines such as lathes, mills, precision grinders, etc. to perform diversified machining operations in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Reports to: Maintenance Shop Supervisor

Directs Reports: None

Major duties:



  • Under direct supervision, uses a variety of precision hand tools, grinders, drill presses, hydraulic presses, saws and other machines to repair parts and field operations equipment according to required specifications
  • Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines
  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, maintaining a safe, clean work area
  • Complies with all company policies and safety regulations at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Qualifications and Skills




  • 1- 2 years' experience in machine shop environment
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
  • Basic mechanical aptitude attained through supervised apprenticeship
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete assigned tasks with minimal re-work
  • Regular punctual attendance as scheduled
  • Must be able to read and understand written and oral instructions, safety documents, procedural manuals and engineering drawings
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of personnel in a courteous and professional manner
  • Must have strong work ethic




  • High school diploma (or successful completion of equivalency)
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English)
  • LEAN manufacturing experience

Typical working conditions and hazards:

Work hours will be determined by facility management to meet the needs of the business and may require overtime.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The temperatures in the plant can be extreme. The noise level is usually quite loud. Safety glasses are required at all times. Ear protection is strongly encouraged. Hard hats may occasionally be required. May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the assembly process
