The Project Controls Lead position will be responsible for supporting the project team as owner's representative managing project cost and contract compliance through monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, reporting, and advising on accuracy and trends.  This position will report to the Project Controls Manager.
 
Responsibilities
Advising project team on cost control & contract compliance
Advising Project Manager and Project Controls Manager on accuracy of contractor reporting and contract non-conformance
Tracking progress & reports against actual cost
Preparing any special progress reports, cost reports, and forecasts for team activities
Assisting in change management process with project leaders and contractors
Reviewing project cost estimates and schedules
Coordinating routine progress reporting
Reviewing project cost estimates and project budget tracking for compliance
Providing Project Manager with independent assessments and analyses
Preparing and updating weekly and monthly project cost reports
Tracking and evaluating PO and subcontract cost reporting and invoicing
Participating in reporting on process and cost
Functioning as SAP subject matter expert for the projects team
Directing contractor of company requirements for planning, cost control, and reporting
Directing and collaborating with Project Controls Analysts to best support the PMO organization
Assisting in development of schedules to forecast outcomes
Reviewing and accessing accuracy of contractor cost reporting, reporting procedures, cost estimates, and forecasting
Periodically auditing contractor progress reporting and forecasting
Assuring contractors incorporate work scope changes in planning and budgets
Advising contractor of company input to budgets and schedules
Reviewing and approving contractor cost control plans and procedures for compliance and conformance
Updating financial reports in SAP
 
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Financial or Technical field of study (Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction, Engineering Technology)
3+ years of relevant experience with project controls (cost & schedule) and contract compliance
3+ years of experience in SAP
Working knowledge of budget development within a WBS
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Willing and able to travel at least 10% of the time
 
 
Preferred:
5+ years of relevant experience with project controls (cost & schedule) and contract compliance
5+ years of experience on EPC
Intermediate proficiency in SAP PS & PM and Business Warehouse for projects tracking and reporting
Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of professionals/stakeholders
Project Management Institute trainings and/or certification such as Project/Program/Portfolio Management Professional
