This position is accountable for performing laboratory operations on reservoir rock and reservoir fluid samples and data processing.



Logging in of new samples into database and labeling

Performing routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, per equipment manual or supervisor specifications

Assembling laboratory equipment and maintaining inventory

Assisting in the cleaning and upkeep of the laboratory work area

Performing routine laboratory tests under the direct supervision of senior technicians

Ensuring all safety protocols and PPE are utilized at all times

Follow written procedures and/or supervisor/manager direction

Recording and inputting data collected from laboratory measurements

Perform data processing under direct supervision of senior technicians or lab supervisor

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job



Attention to detail

Basic knowledge of computer systems. Microsoft office, Excel, Word, Power Point

Ability to verbally communicate well with all levels of employees

Must be able to follow written protocols

Follow and promote strict safety practices

High School Diploma or GED

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Availability for travel


Mechanical and electrical skills.

Familiarity with sample logging software

Experience with high pressure and high temperature laboratory testing

Previous lab experience

Speak other languages. Spanish preferred.

Partial or completed BS degree in engineering or science
