Job Summary

This Procedure Writer position is located in Anadarko's West Texas Region as a member of the Delaware Basin Exploration and Production (E&P) Operations organization in Midland, TX.


  • Minimum 8 years' experience in oil and gas, preferred.

  • Experience with Process Safety and Hazard Identification preferred.

  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures, startup procedures, maintenance procedures, shut down procedures, lock out tag out and consequences of deviation tables.

  • Knowledge of oil and gas operations

  • Understanding of safe work practices and work permitting.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Technical abilities to include MS suite at minimum.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with personnel at varying levels and positions.


  • Accomplish responsibilities / duties in accordance with Anadarko's Core Values.

  • Adhere to and enforce all applicable company, state and federal safety and environmental guidelines.

  • Serve as spokesperson and champion for process safety and safe work practices.

  • Effectively interact with the operations, mechanical integrity, and engineering teams to develop operating and maintenance procedures for production facilities.

  • Schedule and coordinate annual review of procedures.

  • Walk down facilities and equipment to review, verify and update procedures, as necessary.

  • Actively participate in change management (MOC) process to ensure procedures remain up to date and communicated to affected personnel.

  • Assist in development of operations and maintenance training material.


High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 

Bachelor's degree preferred.


Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.


This position may be eligible for relocation

Travel Requirements

 The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%.

Work Schedule

This position is eligible for the 5/40 work schedule

Successful candidate must live within 75- miles of Midland, TX
