We are seeking a Project Engineer to help deliver a capital program for a 12-month fixed term contract in all engineering disciplines located at a Central Queensland based petrochemical plant.


We require a business-focused professional who can assist with the delivery of small to medium multi-disciplinary capital projects in accordance with business objectives and requirements.


Key Responsibilities include:


  • Identify stakeholders and develop internal scope definition.
  • Develop Pre- Sanction Estimates and Capital Expenditure Proposals for individual business cases.
  • Manage preliminary design, capital development, detailed design, construction management, commissioning and closeout.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the business objectives, as per scope, within budget and schedule.
  • Development and management of schedules, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering, construction and other activities relating to the project.
  • Management of overall project cost control
  • Monitor, control and report project progress against multiple project timelines, milestones and key performance indicators.
  • Identify and document potential risks and develop effective control strategies to minimise these.
  • Use scheduling and document management tools to update, track and record project performance
  • Assist with general project control duties including the management of variations by analysing the implications of scope change on issues such as cost, safety, quality and schedule.


Suitable candidate will have:


· PMBOK or Prince2 equivalent Project Management training.

· Ability to solve complex problems and manage constructions with a highly skilled team.

· Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

· Strong financial mind set.
