Our client now has an immediate requirement for a mechanical engineer to join their team on a 12 month contract basis, candidate must have experience with static mechanical equipment on board vessels ( pipework, valves ect) to be considered for this position. The role is based in Aberdeen city centre but will require regular ad hoc trips to West Africa.
.Provide engineering support to achieve and maintain the technical and performance integrity of the FPSO facility.
.Lead and co-ordinate high quality maintenance and Integrity management activities for all static equipment [pipework, valves, vessels etc.].
.Maintain an open and high-quality offshore operations team delivering high levels of maintenance and cost performance.
.Deliver a structured integrated maintenance & integrity management system.
.Lead RCA investigations to determine causes of failures and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
.Provide management and coordination of all project processes from budget preparation, financial approvals, schedule and cost estimates, risk and quality management, project execution and closure.
.Resource planning for current and future projects.
.Identify, review, and approve any QA/QC requirements for the facilitys equipment and packages that relate to the mechanical components of all management of change engineering change request work scopes.
.Identify, develop, and complete management of change, engineering change requests including engineering assessments with respect to all static mechanical related systems and equipment. This includes the design and engineering standards and specifications review and development.
.Propose change mark-ups, equipment sizing, engineering proposals & calculations as required for project approval.
.Prepare project cost estimates for schedules, specifications for labour, and material and equipment. Complete technical bid evaluations of contractor/vendor bid submissions.
.Plan and manage work scopes with company approved contractors for the facility.
.Participate in meetings, reviews progress and addresses interface/implementation/execution issues, escalates to Technical Safety Engineer where necessary to ensure that the project proceeds timely and smoothly.
.Participate in Client meetings and technical presentations.
.Visit the Abidjan office and vessel on a 4-6 weekly basis.
.A relevant qualification in mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
.Previous experience with the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems within a large-scale process plant, ideally FPSO.
.High level of computer literacy in office packages: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.
.Excellent team spirit and proactive attitude.
.Ability to deliver high quality work on time.
.Ability to work on their own initiative with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
.Written and verbal communication skills.
.Ability to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently.
.Diligence & attention to detail.
.Basic Offshore Survival Induction Emergency Training [BOSIET] or Further Offshore Emergency Training [FOET].
.Helicopter Underwater Escape Training [HUET].
.International Minimum Industry Training [IMIST].
.Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System [CA-EBS].
