Job Summary

This is an instrumental position within the Anadarko information technology organization whose primary responsibility is to create efficiencies within day-to-day operations utilizing emerging technologies. This responsibility includes automating procedures and orchestrating workflows within infrastructure systems, including Cloud integrations with Azure and Google Cloud. This position will be located at Anadarko corporate headquarters in The Woodlands, TX.




  • 4+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure systems and projects

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management/ITIL

  • Experience in managing complex technical infrastructure environments.

  • Strong hands-on Linux experience is required for supporting Databases, Geoscience business systems, data scientist, and IoT efforts.

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows (Server, AD), Network architecture, and Storage (NAS) is required

  • In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure-as-a-Service with Azure, GCP, and AWS is a plus.

  • Experience with API programming.

  • A solid understanding of current and emerging infrastructure technologies, platforms and solutions that support the business.Includes: Windows, Linux, Storage, and Networking.

  • Must possess creativity and innovation with Linux environments.

  • Experience with Container based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and RedHat technologies is required.GPU based computing is a strong plus.

  • Candidate must be proficient with configuration management tools: (Ansible [preferred], Chef, Puppet tools).

  • Experience with developer toolsets such as Gitlab and Jenkins.

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience programming with any of these products; Python, C#, .NET, Java, Ruby, JavaScript

  • Must have experience with building log and metrics analysis systems (Kafka, Prometheus, ELK Stack)

  • Experience with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure is required.

  • Database knowledge of Oracle, SQL, Mongo, Hadoop/MapR is a strong plus.




  • Accountable for the effective execution and support of the Infrastructure including Linux, Windows, Network, Storage, Cloud IaaS/PaaS integrations, infrastructure Compliance and governance, Infrastructure Security, and Training.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills required for supporting business system performance issues or failures.

  • Manages performance, capacity, health, and reliability of infrastructure systems.

  • Scales infrastructure as performance demands.

  • Must partake in after-hours rotational on-call support with team.

  • Produces, communicates and maintains infrastructure standards, procedures, guidelines, and policies.

  • Takes corrective actions when a defined operations process is not yielding desired results

  • Improve operational practices and procedures by developing solutions (i.e. provisioning, config mgmt, event-driven tasks)

  • Propose new ideas and stay up to date on the latest technology trends.


Bachelor's degree in an IT, Engineering or closely related technical field is strongly desired (or equivalent work experience); advanced degree is a plus.


This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Work Schedule

This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
