Job Summary

This is an instrumental position within the Anadarko information technology organization whose primary responsibility is to provide strategic and operational infrastructure expertise. This responsibility includes defining and implementing the technical infrastructure architecture, including Cloud integrations, and maintaining accountability for the operational execution of the infrastructure functions.

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Advisor must serve as an expert and authority on Infrastructure systems (on-premise and cloud) while promoting a business-value driven approach to implementing the infrastructure architecture. This position will be located at Anadarko corporate headquarters in The Woodlands, TX.

Qualifications

 

 


  • Overall 12+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure systems and projects

  • A solid understanding of current and emerging infrastructure technologies, platforms and solutions that support the business, and a broad understanding of the challenges facing Oil and Gas Exploration and Production industry.

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management/ITIL

  • Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas or broader Energy Industry experience.

  • Experience in managing complex technical infrastructure environments.

  • Strong hands-on Linux experience is required for supporting Databases, Geoscience business systems, and data scientist.

  • Experience with Solaris, Linux, Microsoft Windows (Server, AD), Network architecture, and Storage (NAS) is required

  • In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure-as-a-Service with Azure, GCP, and AWS is a plus.

  • Design and implement automated solutions for provisioning, change management, and self-service.

  • Experience working with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Pivotal PCF)

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years' experience programming with any of these products; Python, C#, .NET, Java, Ruby, JavaScript


Responsibilities

 

 


  • Accountable for the definition, maintenance, and hands-on implementation of the infrastructure architecture in support of the business processes.

  • Develops and implements the infrastructure roadmap of the required technology and processes.

  • Provides direction and guidance to leadership and the organization on technology capabilities and utilization

  • Leads the function that provides guidance on the architecture and design of infrastructure solutions for applications or systems, and provides technical hands-on expertise and consulting to the technical teams.

  • Accountable for the effective execution of the Infrastructure Architecture, including Linux, Windows, Network, Storage, Cloud IaaS/PaaS integrations, infrastructure Compliance and governance, Infrastructure Security, and Training.

  • Takes an active role in leading critical incident response, including the identification, triage, analysis, processing, escalations to final resolution and lessons learned.

  • Produces, communicates and maintains infrastructure standards, procedures, guidelines, and policies.

  • Takes corrective actions when a defined operations process is not yielding desired results


Education

Bachelor's degree in an IT, Engineering or closely related technical field is strongly desired (or equivalent work experience); advanced degree is a plus.

Work Schedule

This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
