Our client is looking for a General Accountant for a 12 month contract basis, located in Aberdeen.



The General Accountant will perform the general ledger accounting of the local entities, including accurate and timely reconciliations and reporting, correctly captured transactions, and well documented transactions and effective internal controls. The General Accounting team is also managing the questions from external auditors in coordination with the local Finance teams.



  • Perform asset accounting, including CAPEX clearing and all settlements in SAP AM
  • Prepare fixed asset reconciliations and run depreciation postings
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and hold balance sheet reviews with the business as necessary to validate substance / existence / validity of balance sheet balances
  • Perform revaluation of balance sheet accounts
  • Book tax related postings including royalties
  • Perform financial reporting of entity actuals in BPC for consolidation
  • Prepare and submit reports / filings to local authorities as necessary (national bank, statistics, etc)
  • Prepare supporting reports for Customs and VAT returns
  • Manage companies accounting and book GL entries as required under IFRS standards
  • Book payroll journal entries based on HR calculation and perform proper reconciliation between GL accounts and payroll. Support inpat / expat tax returns in coordination with HR teams
  • Support the statutory accounting experts for statutory accounts preparation
  • Document transactions with supporting information and maintain vouchers and records
  • Perform technical closings and run SAP jobs as necessary
  • Coordinate with FSSC JV accounting for cutback processing
  • Coordinate with FSSC cash and treasury accounting for cash / treasury flows
  • Perform invoicing of incidental 3rd party services and expatriated staff
  • Liaise with and provide information to external audits for financial and JV audits
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Extensive experience in a similar financial position and P&L experience
  • A solid grasp of all financial topics and functions
  • Good communication skills
  • Be highly analytical with good problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of general accounting tools
  • Language:  English is required
