Job Purpose

  • Execute and monitor the deployment of technical services, technology solutions and process engineering design through undertaking of activities in Plant /Field Asset operations relating to the development of technology solution in the area of Process Technology leading to yield improvement, hydrocarbon molecule management, energy efficiency improvement and hydrocarbon loss minimization to the OPU or Capital Projects focusing in maximizing value creation and driving cost effectiveness.

 

Key Accountabilities

Project consultancy

Undertake the implementation and operation of projects (technology solution, HAZOP, conceptual design, application of new technology, pilot, etc.) in the relevant discipline by providing technology solutions, technical services and initiatives in Plants to ensure smooth Plant operations and/or plant improvements.

  • Effectiveness of technical solutions/services implemented

 

Engineering and Technical Services

Undertake the analysis and identification of Plant concerns &issues in the area of Process through executing Root Cause Analysis, proposing fit for proposed technology solutions, securing supports from Technical Professionals (TPs) and preparing study report on problems and develop solutions for long term Plant sustainability to maximize value creation to the OPU#s through yield improvement, throughput increase, efficient energy utilization and minimizing hydrocarbon loss.

Best practices

Evaluate and implement best practices, lessons learnt, etc. in relevant discipline through project implementations, information sharing in forums, workgroups, and networking event so as to capture and incorporate Best Practices into PETRONAS Technical Standards (PTS) and to support the implementation of Best Practice in all relevant OPUs.

Analysis Review and Technology Development

Perform Engineering Calculations and participate in Engineering Analysis /Review in the development of technology solutions and technical service to acquire know-how and competency in the application of engineering tools (e.g. Process Simulation Software-Icon, Hysis, PetroSim, OlefinSim, HAZOP Software-Phapro, material and energy balance calculation, Design Workbench & spreadsheet etc.) so as to continuously keep abreast of new developments of these tools.

  • Competency level achieve in terms of utilizing the available tools in delivering the technical solutions/services

 

Plant operation performance management

Analyze, understand and apply Standard Management Systems / Tools / Methodology (RCA, ELMS, PSM, VIP, etc.) in carrying out investigation work, studies, assessment and performing plant operations in order to provide quality of work and deployment of GTS Best practices for OPUs.

  • Competency level achieve for each of the management system/tool/methodology required in delivering the technical solutions/services

 

Consultancy & Guidance to stakeholders

Provide support to relevant Working Groups, Skill Groups, etc by assisting with other activities such as assuming the role of secretariat, facilitators, organizers, etc, for smooth progression of Group activities.

  • Effectiveness of role provided to support the identified working groups e.g. CoP secretariat, Managers Panel and etc.

Networking and Relationship Building

Foster and sustain effective working relationships and rapport with the government authorities, business and management institutions, national and key industry players and service providers to keep abreast with latest development to capture new business opportunities.
