Material and Corrosion Engineering Implementation Lead the implementation of Materials and Corrosion Engineering strategies for projects to design and construct facilities for PCSB global operations ensuring total quality 'life of field' solutions, low life cycle cost, fit for purpose, application of appropriate technologies to enable development & monetization of new reserves and assets through development of detailed and comprehensive corrosion analysis, as well as the requirements with consideration of PCSB long term plan in line with company objectives. Develop and recommend best configuration, detailed plan and approach with regards to materials specification and analyze impact to project objectives, whilst identifying areas for improvement and effective design engineering practices to ensure the optimization of materials selection and corrosion control measures for the facilities.
Assessment of Material & Corrosion Lead and drive the implementation of identified 'fit-for-purpose' development concepts and knowledge areas for Materials & Corrosion. This requires complete and thorough re-assessment of technical standards and generation of generic functional specifications/ generic development concepts (shorter design life/ fast track nature/ minimum facilities/ lightweight/re-usable facilities/ minimum maintenance/ completely unmanned/ etc.).
Purchase of Company Supplied Items Lead the evaluation and provide technical inputs on materials and corrosion during the development of equipment specifications, bid enquiry package and provision of engineering services for the purchase of company supplied equipment / materials by drive the preparation of specifications and factory acceptance testing of long lead delivery equipment complying to codes and standards, regulation and company requirements, lead a team of multi-discipline engineers in evaluating and recommending the appointment of vendors/ contractors through tendering process and/or negotiation and provide engineering skill in the reviewing and verifying vendor data to meet the project quality requirements as well as lead Factory acceptance testing of long lead delivery equipment.
New and Niche Technology Lead the implementation of key Materials & Corrosion technologies and lead the development of expertise in line with TPCP and focus areas of deep-water, remote onshore fields, aging fields, EOR, and small fields. This require assessment/ evaluation of technologies through pilot or actual installed sites; secondment to key players/ partners who is a leader in respective areas such as deepwater; joint industry projects; strong alliances with key players / vendors.
Drive and lead the evaluation, acquisition and application of new Materials and Corrosion technology for effective cost optimisation that suit the project and operational requirements by reviewing and validate recommendation to ensure proven technology is used whenever possible and to select appropriate development solutions if proven technology is not available to support development of petroleum resources, shorten schedule, increase production, extend field life, improve HSE standards, maximize Company's profitability and build competitive advantage in E&P.
Technical Integrity Check Lead technical integrity check in relations to Materials and Corrosion of project deliverables through execution of QA/QC functions, by means of Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP),Peer/Line Review, Project Integrated Review (PIR), QRA, Project Risk Assessment (PRA) in compliance with PETRONAS Technical Standard (PTS); international codes and standard, and best practices; local authorities or government regulations such as DOE and DOSH.
Recommend and verify the technical integrity of Materials and Corrosion solutions given to mitigate risks, resolve problems, improve quality/safety and enhance production during all phases of field life from acquisition, exploration, development, production and decommissioning/abandonment in order to support CBD, JV management, and JOB team.
Technical Expertise & Excellence Provide technical expertise to Project Teams during various phases of project execution, i.e. During conceptual, detailed design, Factory Acceptance Test, troubleshooting at site during fabrication and hook-up & commissioning; and to Production Units, i.e. operational audit, management safety audit, major maintenance turnaround, specialised troubleshooting, major replacement work and major plant upgrading.
Participate and contribute in technical professional bodies in domestic and international seminars and conferences as part of self- development, promotion and establish recognition for the Company and department as Centre of Technical Excellence.
Key Technical and Work Processes Develop and review key Materials and Corrosion technical documents for projects development to ensure that it is aligned with PETRONAS and host government procedures and guidelines, as well as revision and addendum to PETRONAS Technical Standards.
