To provide consultation and implement the Occupational Health (OH) programs which include developing and delivering the OH Strategy, providing expert technical advice and consultancy to PETRONAS business towards achieving compliance on all matters related to OH Company and regulatory requirements.

Technical Leadership

  • Drive technical development, implementation and monitoring of health plans, projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Assure alignment with Company health standards, systems and processes and support the development of procedures and guidance.
  • Assure compliance towards relevant health legislation and the implemented policies, standards and guidelines by the businesses to safeguard the interest, image and reputation of PETRONAS.

Consultancy

  • Provide OH Technical direction, guidance, advice and solutions to applicable business and OPU, including project teams.
  • Act as Technical resource on clinical, occupational, community and environmental health matters.
  • Provide technical health advice on medical emergency response plans and in the event of medical or public health emergency/crisis.
  • Support businesses/ OPUs in the implementation and embedding of MCF, PTS and health promotion in their areas of operation.
  • Provide technical consultancy in the investigation and classification of incident.
  • Monitor and analyse Health performance and provide report as per requirement.

Technical Talent Development

  • Undertake technical and leadership coaching in own skill area
  • Develop and enhance components of technical capability development for staff (develop/review Technology inventory & Ruler, training module, etc.)
  • Conduct training (i.e. skill group, trade group, OPU specific program, etc..

Technical and Professional Excellence

  • Network with technical experts/external parties and professional bodies for continuous technical development, advancement and technical knowledge enhancement
  • Participate and contribute in Community of Practice (CoP)
  • Develop/review procedures and guidelines
  • Participate and share knowledge of best practices within the industry, regulatory bodies, and higher learning institutions e.g. write and publish technical journals/present papers (regional and international), participate in professional bodies/external committees, etc.

  • Identify and plan for key initiatives for department and formulate budget to ensure efficient allocation of financial resources.

  • Foster and sustain effective working relationships and rapport with government authorities, business and management institutions, national and key industry players and service providers to keep abreast with latest development to capture new business opportunities.

  • Enforce the implementation of applicable PETRONAS procedures and guidelines and affect compliance to statutory and legislative requirements to ensure conformance to the established Limits of Authority (LOA) to safeguard the interest, image and reputation of PETRONAS.

Codes of Conduct(COCD) and HSE Policies

  • Communicate, interpret and champion the execution of the objectives and provisions of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and Codes of Conduct and Discipline (COCD).
  • Undertake appropriate mitigation and/or intervention programmes to safeguard business operations, high staff discipline and industrial harmony.

Leadership and Capability Development

  • Drive the development of a competent working team that will enhance and sustain staff capabilities in achieving high performance delivery.
  • Ensure the internalization of the right leadership and capabilities in executing their jobs.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

Qualifications

  • Registered Medical Doctor with post graduate qualifications in Occupational Health.
  • Minimum of 12 years post graduate experience out of which 5 years in Occupational Health role.
