Tasks and Responsibilities of the Mechanic include (but are not limited to):

  • Assists in the maintenance and repairs of all vessel equipment.
  • Responsible for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices and has the right to refuse unsafe work.
  • Following all company policies and procedures
  • Wearing, inspecting, caring for and replacing required personal protective equipment
  • Repairs and overhauls equipment onboard Marine Vessels or at Marine Base
  • Operates and maintains Marine Vessel's generator room
  • Operates various machineries onboard Marine Vessel
  • Operates the ballast system and other liquid systems
  • Operates water maker and carry-out the maintenance
  • Operates boilers and other steam tools
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Mechanic or Mechanic Foreman




  • Knowledge and experience in the offshore industry with at least 5 years' experience in a similar Mechanical role
  • High school graduate
  • Mechanical Engineering Certificate
  • Valid Offshore Medical
  • BOSIET Training or Equivalent (OPITO approved)
  • Fluent both in spoken and written English
  • STCW Reg. VI/6 -Security Familiarization
