Role Summary:

Support the regional technical support manager and the service delivery team in the execution of consistent technical service excellence in the region. This will be accomplished by an efficient two-way dialogue between the technical support team and the client, the operations support team and the service delivery team. Ensure that the clients of LR Operations are provided with a value added solution matching their requirements from the development of the scope of work through service execution until the delivery of the final report.


Responsibilities

  • Without supervision, but working in cooperation and coordination with the regional technical support manager, take ownership and act as technical focal point for the client from the beginning of the project ensure that all project scope(s) from start to completion are correctly defined and aligned with client needs and agreed on, and provide such scope to the internal sales team. Provide technical assistance to clients inside and outside of ongoing projects.
  • Ensure that service delivery staff are equipped with the right (customized) service delivery package and made familiar with the scope of work before work commencement by ensuring that the technical Scope of Work is effectively communicated to field staff before project start and understood by field staff. Research technical information as necessary to prepare for service work.
  • Establish and maintain a close and helpful dialogue with field staff.
  • Ensure that the scope of work is followed through the entire project, and any deviation is reported to the operations team and internal sales team.
  • Provide technical support to the service delivery staff during field assignments on a daily basis, review daily reports, answer questions and provide proactive and constructive guidance on technical matters.
  • Ensure that all daily, interim, preliminary and final reports are technically accurate, clearly articulated and utilize all pertinent LRDIS knowledge and technology, and all related follow-up questions from the client are attended and responded to in a timely manner.
  • Actively attend, participate and if possible, present in technical groups on a regional level and events to advance own knowledge and LR brand awareness (i.e. IADC, API and other standards groups and technical conferences). Write technical papers under supervision and/or co-author technical papers with senior technical personnel.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with technical staff at clients by becoming the trusted advisor at a tactical level, including drilling contractors, operators, and OEMs.
  • Support the regional client facing management in technical support matters and resources. Attend client meetings with the same group, identify client requirements, develop and present solutions, using a range of existing services.
  • Assist the development of new and/or enhanced LR services, both addressing industry requirements and in response to client feedback.
  • Assist to develop LRDIS technical guidance notes and lessons learnt for internal use. Drive the use of guidance notes and lessons learnt to update the necessary inspection tools, checklists, questionnaires and service execution packages.
  • Deploy to field assignments as necessary.
  • Runs own internal projects as assigned by line manager.
  • Know and keep abreast of equipment, processes, regulations, standards etc. in support of field personnel and specific projects.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.

 

Technical Qualifications Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from a recognised university
  • Command of English on a fluent level.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Computer and Microsoft portfolio literacy.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant field experience.
  • Drilling field experience on various drilling units and operational/maintenance activities is a must
  • Formal project management education or training and/or project engineering/management experience is preferred.
  • Customer focus, understand and translate the requirements to the proposal, work package and field staff, to ensure LR continually delivers high quality service within the agreed timeframes.
