Job Summary

This position is located at Anadarko's corporate headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas, as member of the IT Integration Services Team. As a Middleware Engineer, this position is responsible to lead the design, development, and implementation of middleware solutions in the Cloud and on-prem.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of four years' in a DevOps or PaaS role. Additional specific qualifications include experience with:



  • Container orchestration platforms such as Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, or Docker Swarm.

  • App server configuration and maintenance (Apache Tomcat in particular).

  • Developer tools such as GIT, Artifactory, Jira, Maven, Ant, etc.

  • Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins or other similar tools.

  • Configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.

  • Monitoring technologies such as TSDBs, Grafana, Datadog.

  • Scripting or programming languages, such as Shell, Groovy, Ruby, Java, Python.

  • Software load balances like HAproxy and Nginx.

  • Enterprise security concepts (AD, Kerberos, SAML, OAuth).

  • Multi-environment support (from sandbox to production and on-prem to Cloud).

  • Building and consuming microservices.

  • Log aggregation tools like Splunk and ELK.

  • Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.



The candidate will work closely with other professionals within various departments to ensure successful design, support, and growth of middleware systems. Additional specific responsibilities include:




  • Define a common approach for monitoring and logging of middleware servers.

  • Build out the automation of configuration and release management for development, analytics, and integration solutions.

  • Ensure performance and capacity management is considered, including auto-scale out capabilities.

  • Balance support, including issue/problem resolution, for both sandbox (i.e. non-production) and production environments.

  • Work with other teams to engineer and implement infrastructure solutions, including design, administration, deployment, troubleshooting and validation for on-premises and cloud platforms.



High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Programming or other relevant technical background is highly preferred.


This position is eligible for relocation.

Work Schedule

This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
