Job Summary

This position is located at Anadarko's corporate office in The Woodlands, TX office and will be responsible for leading complex projects including planning, scoping requirements, scheduling, costs, resource management, project communication, quality, risk/issues, change control.





  • The candidate should have at least five (5) years of proven IT experience. Eight (8) years preferred.

  • Strong technical Linux, Windows, Network, and Storage experience is required for this position; level 3 support.

  • Must have strong experience working with Linux and Microsoft technologies.

  • Excellent motivational and leadership skills.

  • Must possess creativity and innovation with Compute, Network, Storage, and Cloud environments.

  • Extensive experience with enterprise architecture.

  • Must be able to forecast and be a visionary for multi-year plans.

  • Candidate must have experience working with Cloud infrastructure; Azure, Google, and/or AWS.

  • Candidate must be proficient with scripting/coding, automating, and orchestrating IT infrastructure tasks.

  • Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Pivotal Cloud Foundry) is a plus.

  • Must demonstrate and utilize a thorough working knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts related to Red Hat, Microsoft and strategic partner solutions.

  • Candidate must understand project management and be capable of leading project teams.

  • Candidate must display excellent oral and written communications skills in both technical and non-technical situations and be capable of collaborating with all different levels of the organization and skill types.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, work under pressure, and follow through with assigned tasks with limited supervision.








  • Interact with the various technology groups across the ITS organization (Geologist, Engineers, Data, Advanced Analytics & Emerging Technologies) to innovate business processes.

  • Cultivate, develop, and manage people to innovate, perform, and deliver business results.

  • Proficient with managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service levels to meet business needs.

  • Evaluate end user needs, business goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards.

  • Research, develop, and implement innovative infrastructure solutions (compute, network, storage, PaaS, and IaaS)

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to others while actively transferring knowledge to colleagues.

  • Effectively interact and consult with colleagues across the organization.

  • Lead and assist with the design and implementation of major technical infrastructure architectures including the configuration, testing, documentation and coordination with other IT and business disciplines.
  • Enhance existing systems as required to gain better efficiencies and minimize downtime.



High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Programming or other relevant technical background preferred.


This position is not eligible for relocation.

Travel Requirements

The percentage of travel required for this position is up to 5%.

Work Schedule

This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
