POSITION TITLE:  Production Engineer - Chemical Production Facility

LOCATION: Baton Rouge, LA area

Our client is global leader in chemical manufacturing with operations and facilities all around the globe. They are growing their technical engineering staff at their Baton Rouge facility and looking to hire a Production Engineer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Production Engineer - Chemical Production Facility

  • Drive process improvement and operations related to the plant equipment and production processes at the chemical facility
  • Work closely with other engineering and operational team members to drive the process
  • Help with driving safe and efficient operations related to production systems
  • Identify areas to improve process control systems and design, run, and help deliver on capital projects related to them
  • Help with developing and enhancing various process engineering competencies; state modeling, dynamic modeling, unit operation design, and fluid dynamics calculations

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Production Engineer - Chemical Production Facility

  • BS in engineering ; Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 7+ years of experience working in a chemical production facility
  • Extensive background process improvement specifically in Heat Exchange & Distillation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and lean/process improvement conscious
  • Strong communication, project, and teamwork skills
  • Experience with equipment & PSV sizing, Aspen software, PSM, hydraulics, and process troubleshooting
