HIGH LEVEL JOB DESCRIPTION/SCOPE:
 

  • Application Support Analyst will work in the ITMA App Support Buenos Aires team.

    The team performs the following:
  • The ITMA App Support team is responsible for maintaining over 40 applications that support Chevron's IT Systems. These applications range in size from web services to applications that are accessed and used by Chevron personnel and partners worldwide and 3 rd party applications.
  • Team members and business partners are in Houston, San Ramon, and Manila, with additional technical support provided by our offshore staff in India.

 


Position Details:

This position is a member of the Operations Support IT Management Applications support team that provides technical leadership for IT for IT Projects and Operational Support. Responsible for delivery of application support and maintenance services with operational excellence, reliability and cost effectiveness. Applications are a mix of purchased and Chevron developed, primarily Web based on .NET/Windows platform. Accountable for ensuring that applications meet Chevron information protection and technical standards, including appropriate documentation and sustaining processes, that these processes align with ITSD ALM guidelines and methodologies, Application Delivery Services (ADS) and architecture standards, and that adequate support is in place to meet service level agreements

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

 

 

  • Ensure adequate and accurate documentation for system design, configuration, functional and technical specifications, and business processes on all projects as part of hand-off to support.
  • Accountable for all process controls and documentation necessary to comply with Chevron policies, IT architecture standards, ADS SLA, and IT Application Lifecyle Management (ALM) processes.
  • Provides expected levels of support which may include: handling service requests, monitoring incident details, incident investigation and diagnosis (root cause analysis), detection of possible problems and the resolution and recovery of assigned incidents, and oversees ADM partners or 3rd party vendors.
  • Manage and deliver on all initiatives such as enhancements, configuration and process changes, application patches and upgrades, and extensions of new functionality
  • Ensure ITSM Incident, Change, and release management processes are adhered to
  • Manages work of off-shore contractor support resources
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with other ITMA Support Teams in the US, internal customers and vendors
  • Oversees ADM partner support of a suite of applications delivered via a managed service agreement
  • Main interface for our business partners to gather business requirements.

  • Ensure release management processes are adhered to
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers and vendors.
  • Ensure adequate and accurate documentation for system design, configuration, functional specifications, and business processes on all projects as part of deployment.
  • Participates ITSM Incident, Change, and release management processes
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with other ITMA Support Teams in the US and vendors, and primary contact with Application Business Owners
  • Coordinate Information Risk Management actions against Compliance Plan for ITSD Operations Support
  • Help drive business case development and prioritization of requests
  • Involved in testing, training and implementation of IT solutions

 


Special Considerations:

 

 

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
  • Strong leadership skill with experience leading a technical team to the successful completion of project and operational milestones. Ability to communicate, manage and work with diverse populations located globally.
  • 7+ years of IT experience in software development and solution architecture in a complex business environment
  • 3+ years of IT operational experience
  • Familiar with software development methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Prototyping, AGILE/Scrum, etc)
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and influence/drive to deliver results
  • Ability to complete high quality work on schedule
  • Strong knowledge in the ITSM and IRM process and tools as well as the ITSD Application Lifecycle Methodology for Projects and Operations
  • Technical background in C++, .NET, SQL Server, Oracle or other relevant technology development tools.
  • Analytical and soft skills-Demonstrated strong, teamwork and customer engagement skills, ability to build relationships, strong influencer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and assign work.
  • Verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate with both business partners, other IT professionals or higher managers.
