Dril-Quip (Europe) Limited are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join their Subsea team on a permanent basis at the Dyce, Aberdeen facility. The main purpose of the role is to analyse, design and test components for subsea completion systems and to provide engineering support to other project staff functions.

The key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Liaising with the customer on all project technical matters

• Ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet all statutory requirements

• Fulfilling Engineering duties on products including specification, design release for purchasing, build and test supervision documentation and reporting progress to the relevant Project Manager

• Approval of drawings and BOM's up to and including final approval

• Familiarity and compliance with all current Company procedures, project specifications and statutory regulations so that a standard approach to design is adopted whilst satisfying customer requirements

• Carrying out tasks within agreed time scales and budgets, reporting status in the appropriate format and highlighting deviations to the relevant Project personnel

• Interacting with supply team members so that materials / items are released and procured in a timely manner

• Providing technical support to the Manufacturing department

• Interacting with R&D on projects so that the project requirements are met in full

• Acting as technical leader as required

• Monitoring the Company's engineering processes and procedures and advising on any improvements

• Reviewing manual or computer assisted calculations and approving engineering drawings, interfacing with other Dril-Quip departments and participating in engineering design review


Skills and experience should include:

• Degree level or above in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical and Offshore Engineering or an HNC / HND with extensive experience in a technical Engineering role with oilfield equipment

• Substantial experience in an Engineering discipline in an oilfield manufacturing environment; specifically subsea completion equipment including Horizontal Tree design

• Understanding of applicable standards and recommended practices

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent time management and organizational skills
