Position: Crane Operator/ Derrick Operator - NCCCO CERTIFIED WITH TLL ENDORSEMENT 

Position Summary: At his/ her assigned location, the crane operator will operate and maintain assigned cranes performing lifts as required while providing guidance to assigned crew of a midstream barge crane

Roles and Responsibilities:

Operate vessel and barge cranes for the following operations:

  • General deck lifting
  • Pipe lifting
  • Working subsea with diving personnel on various lifts
  • Jacket lifting, horizontal/ vertical/ upending
  • Topside deck lifts and associated packages
  • Piles
  • Pile Driving hammers
  • Internal Lifting Devices
  • Single Buoy Moorings
  • Various other components associated with operations
  • Operate cranes by the way of radio communications or hand signals, if applicable
  • Responsible for maintaining safe crane operations as per company and manufacturers procedures/guidelines within the crane's capabilities
  • In conjunction with vessel engineering personnel, perform daily checklist on equipment's and reports faults to supervisor
  • Following all company policies and procedures and ensuring subordinates do the same
  • To be familiar with all company procedures, including the safety management system, applicable to his or hers duties
  • Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices
  • Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for function
  • Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience on offshore cranes in a similar application (e.9. large cranes for big rig operators, subsea cranes for DSV work)
