The Designer III position will provide engineering design and analysis expertise and leadership for development of products. This position provides technical design leadership to our in-house efforts as well as leadership to our supply base. Position is located in Sealy, TX.

 

Responsibilities:

•Provide engineering design and analysis support to project teams, system designers, and engineers in making effective design concept selections, specifying products & technology, producing detailed designs, technical reports, analyses, drawings, and leading failure investigations.
•Design products from initial concept stage through to production in a professional and time efficient manner.
•Produce 3-D CAD Models and Detail Drawings to provide solutions in accordance with clients' requirements.
•Create full general arrangement drawings (GAs) and detailing all the subcomponents for fabrication of the project.
•Assist in the development of company design systems, standards and procedures.
•Contribute development ideas for new and existing products.
•Support work for proposals and projects working tight deadlines.
•Assist in the preparation of drafting estimates.
•Ensure compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
•Liaise with Engineers and assists in interpreting project requirements.
•Prepare assembly and detailed models by means of either ACAD under direction of the Engineer.
•Prepare hydraulic schematics, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's).
•Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), under direction of Engineering.
•Assist in identifying and ensuring equipment is designed in accordance with the current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
•Participate in design reviews where required.
•Identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost effective solutions to satisfy customer specifications

 

Requirements:

•Minimum 8 years' experience of design and drafting utilizing ANSI Y14.5 as well as experience in the design of mechanical components and systems.
•Strong technical knowledge in process vessels, tanks & package design.
•Experience with applicable codes and standards.
•Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
•Minimum 5 year's experience with AutoCAD / Solidworks.
