Mercer Valve Company is an international valve manufacturer with service operations providing valve repair and field services, primarily to the oil and gas industry, in 11 states in the USA, and in Canada and Australia.
We are seeking two experienced field valve repair technicians for our shop and field operations in North Texas and South Texas to immediately fill two vacant positions.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL NEED TO BE LOCATED IN THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA OR RELOCATE TO THE HOUSTON AREA FOR THE SOUTH POSITION OR LOCATED IN THE NW FORT WORTH AREA OR RELOCATE TO THAT AREA FOR THE NORTH POSITION.
ONLY EXPERIENCED VALVE REPAIR TECHNICIANS WILL BE CONSIDERED AND NEED APPLY.
THIS POSITION WILL HAVE EXTENSIVE TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS.
Responsibilities and Duties
Includes, but is not limited to:
Oversee all aspects of field work including equipment, communicating with customers to identify need and clarify job scope, manage technicians assisting on jobs, personally perform service operations in field and shop in addition to oversight duties.
Manage service technicians and trainees to achieve company objectives.
Schedule personnel and crews to achieve customer service work requirements.
Communicates with management and other personnel in an efficient and timely manner.
Answer customers questions about products, services, availability, job scope, safety and qualifications.
Emphasizes product features based on analyses of customers needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
Assure that job paperwork is accurately completed and submitted in timely manner.
Takes lead safety role of all personnel and assures that all crew members are following appropriate safety requirements.
Has full responsibility for following company vehicle rules and guidelines.
Complete expense reports and other job required paperwork.
Complete product and development training as required.
Consult with engineers regarding technical problems.
Must complete all scheduled training as required.
Performs all repair duties in the shop and field as required to test and repair various pressure regulating devices and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills
2+ years experience with repair of all types of valves, particularly safety relief valves, actuators, regulators, control valves, ball valves, and other pressure control related products required.
Previous supervisor experience.
Proficient with computers and current technology.
Must be Goal Oriented.
Excellent Communication Skills, both Verbal and Written.
