The Wireline Pumpdown Engineer is directly responsible for delivery of services at the well site, in terms of safety, quality and operational efficiency. This position manages the preparation and dispatch of completion equipment and the execution of services in the field.

Reporting Line:

Reports directly to the District Ops Manager or District Manager

Supervise the Operator(s) Crew

Job Functions:

  • Pump down operations.
  • Managing the operator crew
    • Safety
    • Training
    • Development
    • Managing Operator Crew's hours worked and time sheets
  • Maintenance of assigned equipment
  • Advising customers well site representative(s) in logging and completion operations
  • Interpreting log data as needed
  • Troubleshooting and other well site analysis and decision making processes
  • Participation in the recommendation of hiring and dismissing of Operators.
  • Oversight and approval of Operator(s) work hours for payroll purposes.

Qualifications and Skills

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years relevant pumpdown experience as a Wireline Engineer (Supervisor)

Licenses, Certificates, Credentials, and Other Requirements:

  • Must have and maintain a valid state issued CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with hazmat endorsement.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Employee Possessor issued by the ATF (Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms).
  • A satisfactory driving record per company policies and background with no felonies are also required for this job.

Skill Sets:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility satisfactorily and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Skill Level Working knowledge and the ability to perform duties with minimal direction
  • Patience and the ability to work with others also play a vital role in the teamwork required to complete these tasks successfully.

Work Hours:

  • Rotation
  • Work hours are determined by job specifics. Can be up to 12 hours a day and typically Monday to Friday with some weekend work.
  • May be required to stay on location over night for extended periods.
  • There may also be a requirement to visit and work at other company locations.
