CHIEF ENGINEER (Licensed)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Tasks and Responsibilities of Chief Engineer include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair and administration of all ship board equipment and machinery including the hull

  • Responsible for accurately maintaining maintenance logs for all vessel related equipment, such as engine room equipment, mechanical and electrical, deck machinery and equipment, ship, hull, hotel facilities etc.

  • Responsible for the day to day organization of the Engine Room department onboard directly or through delegation, and the supervision thereof

  • Responsible for all reporting and history updating into the NS5 planned maintenance program

  • Responsible through delegation for computer networks and prevention of unauthorized software being installed and used

  • Responsible for the administration and upkeep of the vessel's Planned Maintenance System

  • Responsible for the upkeep of relevant machinery surveys and certification

  • Maintain current and complete vendors' manual for all vessel related equipment

  • Ensure, through uniform stock & quantity control that adequate inventory and level of spares is maintained at all times

  • Inform the Master when there is any doubt about the quality of the potable water

  • To be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to his duties

  • Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices.

  • Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for the function

  • Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

Must have minimum 10+ years' experience, 5 years, of which are in a supervisory capacity

  • Experience and qualifications as a Chief Engineer  with DP Vessel experience

  • Proven ability to lead teams with strong communication and leadership skills

  • Computer literate, basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email applications

  • BOSIET Training or Equivalent (OPITO approved)

  • Fluent both in spoken and written English

  • STCW95 Reg. III/2 - Chief Engineer

  • STCW Reg. V1-6 Security Training for Seafarers with Security Duties

  • STCW medical fitness certificate

SECOND ENGINEER (Licensed)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Tasks and Responsibilities of First/Second Engineer include (but are not limited to):

  • Repairs and overhauls equipment onboad

  • Operates and maintains generator room

  • Functions as the most senior Engine Room watch keeper

  • Entrusted with the responsibility of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair and administration of all vessels machinery under the direction of the Chief Engineer

  • Make scheduled inspection tour of operating equipment

  • To be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to his duties

  • Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices.

  • Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for the function

  • Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment.

  • Timely reporting of all observed vessel operational issues to the Bridge and Chief Engineer

  • Operates various vessel machineries

  • Operates the ballast system and other liquid systems

  • Operates water maker and carry out the  maintenance

  • Operates boilers and other steam tools

  • Supervise the repairs and maintenance of vessel equipment

  • Keep daily log of ongoing engineering work

  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Chief Engineer

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • STCW95 Reg. III/2 - Chief Engineer (preferred)

  • STCW95 Reg. III/2 - Second Engineer

3rd ENGINEER (Licensed)  

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Tasks and Responsibilities of Third Engineer include (but are not limited to):

  • Repairs and overhauls equipment onboard

  • Operates and maintains generator room

  • Operates various vessel machineries

  • Operates the ballast system and other liquid systems

  • Operates water maker and carry out the maintenance

  • Supervise the repairs and maintenance of vessel equipment

  • Keep daily log of ongoing engineering work

  • Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time by the 2nd Engineer

  • Carry out duties and responsibilities as laid down in the Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP)

  • To be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to his duties

  • Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices.

  • Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for the function

  • Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment.

  • Timely reporting of all observed vessel operational issues to the Bridge and Chief Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities of Motorman/Oiler include (but are not limited to):

  • Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment.

  • Assist and perform all duties under direction

  • Assist the engineers in the day to day maintenance and repair works to the vessel

  • Be proficient in basic welding, machining and mechanical work

  • Carry out general Engine Room housekeeping duties

  • To be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to his duties

ELECTRICAL TECHNICAL OFFICER (ETO)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Tasks and Responsibilities of Electrical Technical Officer (ETO) include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for proper recording of temporary and preliminary modifications

  • To be proficient and knowledgeable in the maintenance and repair of all electrical and electronic equipment on the vessel

  • Accurately maintain logbooks, planned maintenance system and spare part control

  • Carry out repairs and maintenance to the electronic installation of the vessel, with particular regard to DP and GMDSS equipment, all under the direction of the Chief Engineer

  • Keep and maintain current vendors catalogue library of all equipment in area of responsibility

  • Ensure through uniform stock & quantity control, that adequate inventory and level of spares is maintained at all times in area of responsibility

  • Carry out maintenance and administration of the vessel's IT systems and software systems, in conjunction with the IT department ashore.

  • To be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to his duties

  • Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices.

  • Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for the function

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Offshore Medical

CHIEF ELECTRICIAN

ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN / ELECTRICIAN

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Tasks and Responsibilities of the Electrical technician include (but are not limited to):

§  Carry out repairs and maintenance to the electrical installations of the vessel, all under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor Accurately maintain logbooks

§  Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wire between machines and equipment following manuals, schematic diagrams and blueprints.

§  Cleans electric motors and areas housing motors with solvent, broom or vacuum cleaner regularly

§  Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors etc. using test equipment

§  Follows a continuous improvement process that includes familiarization with the vessel systems and equipment

§  Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with established safety standards and work practices

§  Ensuring that all activities are undertaken in accordance with all safety and quality requirements

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

§  Minimum 5 years' DP experience working in the offshore construction industry

§  High school graduate

MECHANIC/DECK MECHANIC   

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Tasks and Responsibilities of the Mechanic include (but are not limited to):

  • Assists in the maintenance and repairs of all vessel equipment.

  • Responsible for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices and has the right to refuse unsafe work.

  • Following all company policies and procedures

  • Wearing, inspecting, caring for and replacing required personal protective equipment

  • Repairs and overhauls equipment onboard Marine Vessels or at Marine Base

QMED  

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The QMED responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of deck mechanical and hydraulic systems including cranes, carousels, davits and launch and recovery systems.

  • Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment

  • Consulting with Chief Engineer for any changes to systems, ensuring they are documented, logged and approved by the responsible authority

  • Maintaining current vendors catalogue library of all equipment in area of responsibility

  • Ensuring thorough uniform stock and quality control for adequate inventory and level of spares is maintained at all times with area of responsibility

  • Working knowledge of all Company procedures, including Safety Management System, applicable to his/her duties

  • Refusing unsafe work and carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices

  • Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training when applicable

 

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Deck Engineer/Hydraulic Technical onboard Dynamic Positioning (DP) Vessels

  • Subsea construction experience

  • Proven background working with hydraulic systems in an offshore environment, preferably relevant to equipment on the vessel. (e.g. dive systems, cranes, carousels)

  • Valid STCW Reg. III/1 - Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch OICEW (preferred)

  • High school graduate

  • Ability to lead teams with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Valid Offshore Medical

  • BOSIET Training or Equivalent (OPITO approved)

  • Fluent both in spoken and written English
