Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of LNG experienced 1st Assistant Engineer located in Glasgow/UK through 22nd July 2018.
Overview:
Become part of a leading global energy organisation with excellent long term career prospects sailing on LNG Carriers with the latest technology.
As the 1st Assistant Engineer you will be a key member of the vessels management team and your leadership ability is critical to the position.
You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of on-board engineering systems, as well as assisting with forward planning.
The safe and mentored supervision of other personnel is one of the highest priorities of the position.
Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 12 months matrix experience on LNG Carriers
  • Diesel Electric propulsion experience critical
  • ABB/Wartsila/Kongsberg certification desirable
  • HV certification preferred
  • Class 2 CoC Unlimited (Motor) minimum
  • Previous experience in rank and in possession of a gas endorsement, valid US C1/D visa and all documentation with at least 6 months validity.
  • Motivated and driven to pursue career development
  • Fluent written and spoken English


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oil Major background preferable, Teekay or MOL candidates acceptable
  • 2 years rank time preferable  and 1 year is the minimum
  • DFDE and/or Steam propulsion experience considered. No MEGI


The start date has to be Mid-August.

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
