Job Description

Shell seeks to recruit a Plant Inspector to join its Inspection team in Pernis.

Shell Netherlands Refinery (SNR) Pernis complex is a large and complex refinery with integrated chemicals facilities, processing about 20 million tonnes of crude oil per year. This is distilled, cracked and treated in more than 40 plants. The Pernis site is driving the 'Flexible Flagship' mission, aiming at top quartile performance and becoming the leading export refinery in Western Europe. What will you do:

As Plant Inspector you are responsible for the integrity of the plants assigned to you for which Shell Pernis uses a Risk Based Inspection strategy. You will develop an Inspection Program and you will organize and (let) execute improvements or repairs. You will enhance the Quality Assurance and Quality Control of inspection operations. Develop inspection standards and procedures, maintain a training program for inspectors, execute compliance audits and reviews, and maintain consistent use of the Inspection Data Management System (IDMS).

The role holds you are accountable for assurance of inspection compliance with Dutch standards and Shell Global HSSE Control Framework. You will work closely with Operations & Maintenance and other technical disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering and Materials & Corrosion Engineering.

Requirements

What we need from you;

You are a strong team player who is persistent and able to influence others. You have excellent communication and organization skills and you are able to work under pressure.

You have a strong drive to meet deadlines and are able to deliver results through others. Fluency in both Dutch is essential for this role. Knowledge of English is preferred.

You'll also;

  • have a Bachelor or Master in (Mechanical) Engineering and you are certified as a Level 2 or 3 (SKK/IKT) Inspector.
  • have substantial experience within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry and you have excellent technical skills in inspection (mechanical or other), technical training and/or Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
